Hello. My name is Miss Karla.

I am originally from a small town near Birmingham in England, and studied in Liverpoool, but have been teaching in early years settings in East London for 16 years!

My favourite subjects to teach are maths and music, and I love outdoor play.

I am already having a wonderful time with my new class at St. Agnes and look forward to my time here.

How can I support my child?

  • Talk and read with your child.
  • Sing counting rhymes and songs.
  • Help your child to become independent with dressing/undressing  and going to the toilet.
  • Help your child to recognise their own clothes, coat, bag and belongings.
  • Give lots of praise!
  • Don’t rush your child through the learning.
  • Use the correct vocabulary.
  • Attend workshops to support your child’s learning.
  • Practise using a knife and fork.
Please send into school any empty cardboard boxes (flat packed and no bigger than cereal packet size for ease of storage), empty egg boxes, kitchen rolls or any other unusual packaging! No glass please. These useful items go in our creative making areas so the children are able to produce their own models.

Things to consider...

  • Many children will have similar clothes, please make sure that items of clothes are clearly labelled, especially jackets and coats.
  • Please ensure that your child can manage their own clothing and foot ware. (No belts or laced shoes!!!)
  • Please remember to inform the school office before 9.00am if your child is ill and will be absent from school.
  • Inform the school immediately of any change of address, email, home telephone number, mobile telephone number, or any other emergency contact information. (English)
  • If your child needs medicine during the day you will need to fill in a consent form.
  • We are unable to apply sun cream, please make sure that you apply this before school if needed.
