Welcome to Year 5
Miss S. O'Garro Christine Edgar Kim Duffy
Year 5 Class Teacher HLTA Teaching Assistant
Hello, I am Miss O’Garro and I am teaching year 5 this academic year - I am also looking after Music this year!
I am a conscientious teacher whose number one goal is to help all my pupils achieve their very best. I believe that every child has the ability to be the best that they can be and I try to instil that thinking into every child by setting high expectations and encouraging them to believe in themselves. I approach education in creative way by including elements of music and aspects of the children’s lives allowing them to engage and relate to their learning. I was raised and educated in North London and began my career working a variety of schools in Islington as a Learning Support Assistant and a Dance Teacher and in youth clubs as a Youth Engagement Associate before completing my teaching degree. St Agnes was the school in which I completed my final placement whilst at university. I enjoyed working here so much, I chose to stay and begin my teaching career here with the current year 6. As a child to two DJ parents, I have always been brought up around music and have developed a love and passion for music, which I aim to share with the children at St Agnes through the music curriculum. I thoroughly enjoy mathematics – it was my favourite subject throughout my own education. I love being able to find the solution to a challenging problem: it is such a rewarding feeling, and a feeling I hope every child at St Agnes gets to feel. |
PE in Year 5PE in Year 5 is on Wednesdays
In addition to set homework, pupils must complete reading every night, and focus on Mathematics Fluency every night.
