Alan Turing: Crash Course Computer Science

NCETM activity (Thursday)

You can buy 3 pots of banana yoghurt for £2·40.
How much will it cost to buy 12 pots of banana yoghurt?

A child’s bus ticket costs £3·70 and an adult bus ticket costs twice as much.
How much does an adult bus ticket cost?

To make a sponge cake, I need six times as much flour as I do when I’m making a fairy cake.

If a sponge cake needs 270g of flour, how much does a fairy cake need?

Miss Donnelly's Golden Time...

Some nice ideas to get you through the week.

  • Give something to someone else without expecting reward- may be a toy to your sibling, a sandwich to a homeless person etc
  • Play a BORED game. (See what I did there- it’s a homophone- Kerry will be delighted with me!) Stay away from any anger-fuelled ones like Monopoly!
  • Solve this riddle: What goes up but doesn’t come down?

I am going to keep up with our secret challenge. Sssssh!
  • Remember to say please and thank you daily to your parents/carers. See if they notice how well you’re doing. They love you so much and may be having to work from home so be grateful! Manners cost nothing. Your reward is living rent free under their roof and getting daily meals!

    Welcome Y6!

    Dear Parents,

Don't stress about schoolwork. In June, we will get your children back on track. I am a teacher and that's my superpower. So right now I need you to share your calm, strength and laughter. No children are ahead. No children are behind. Your children are exactly where they need to be (at home in lockdown!)

    With love,

Miss Donnelly, Kerry and Mrs Kemp xxx

It will all be alright in the end, if it's not alright, it's not the end x
