RE The world is a special place God asks us to care of it Catholic Social Teaching: A Key Principle – Stewardship of creation. The earth and all life on it is God’s creation. We are called to take care of it because it is a holy gift from God and the only place we can live. When we make bad or thoughtless use of the earth’s resources, many people suffer. When we make poor choices about how we treat other living things (people, animals, plants) we cause life to be less than God intends. Making wise choices about the care of God’s creation is called good stewardship.

Black Lives Matter!
In today's lesson, we visit a key topic of Black Lives Matter given the recent case of George Floyd. The lesson is around creating hope for the future – a future that is not based on the colour of someone's skin but the content of their character. A national push for an Oak Tree of Hope will be shared, where we all share a hope using #Iamhopefulfor and attach it to a tree as a symbol of the diversity of our society. Our focus in R.E this month is on the Sacred Heart. This is when we think about how much Jesus loves us. Task 1: I would like you to change your prayer area/altar. You will need some red fabric. (t-shirt, tea towel) Task 2: For your prayer area/altar, I would like you to make some love hearts to decorate and write a prayer for those who you love. Place this prayer on your altar/ prayer area. Task 3: Take this time to do something for your family and friends that shows your love. It could be helping with chores or tidying up your room without being asked. |
