Thursday p20/21 - Invent your own story. Think of a new character - it could be a dog you know/own or a toy you have. Use the questions at the bottom of page 20 to help you think about what might happen in your story. Draw pictures to make a story map of your story. Use the key words on p21 to help you organise your story. Friday p22 - Use your story map from yesterday to tell your story to someone. Have your adult write down your story as you say it. Share it with your friends or family or us here at school. R.E. - One of the wonderful things we praise God for is water. It is a precious gift from God and we need to use it well and not waste it. It’s good to use water to keep us healthy and clean but sometimes we might waste water. Why is water so precious? What can we do to try to save water?
Say this prayer together with your family - Loving God, we praise and thank you for your wonderful world. Amen
P.E. - This can be done inside or outside. Choose a way to move around the space e.g running, hopping, jumping, skipping, sidestepping etc. Call out a body part (for example knee), freeze and balance using that body part on the floor.
Maths: Monday - This week the number of the week is: 13 What can you say about 13? e.g It is 1 more than 12. It is 1 less than 14. Do you know anyone with a door number that is 13? Can you count 13 objects? What different groups can you make using 13 things? e.g 12 and 1, 11 and 2, 10 and 3, 9 and 4 etc Can you read the word thirteen? If you go out on a walk, can you find 13 anywhere? Tuesday - Find one less than a number to 20 You will need your number cards and objects that you were using last week. Choose one of your number cards from your set. Make that number using your objects. Take one object out of your set, how many do you have now? Can you find the card to match the number of objects you have now? Try saying what you have done - 1 less than .... is ...... Wednesday - Finding one more and one less than a number to 20 Look at the grid below. There are some objects placed on the grid. Give clues about where the objects are. e.g The object that I'm thinking of is on the number that is one more than 9. Do you know what the object is? I'm thinking of the object that is on the number that is one less than 15. What is the object? Have a go at making your own grid and placing objects on it. Thursday - Finding one more or one less than a given number to 20 Play the more or less game. You will need: Blocks (anything you can build a tower with), a coin and the number cards to 20 you made last week. How to play: Place the number cards face down. Turn over a card. Build a tower with that number of blocks. Toss the coin - heads is one more, tails is one less. Add one block to find one more or take one block away to find one less than the number on your card. How many blocks do you have now? Friday - Investigate numbers 1-20 You will need: your number cards 1-20, two containers (bowls, trays, baskets), objects to count, pencil and paper. Use your number cards to choose a number between 1 and 20. Count out that number of objects. See how many different ways you can split that number between your two containers. Record what you did using pencil and paper and this part-whole model that you can see below. Challenge: Transport
