Homework 9.11.20

Hello Year 4! 
Each week I will be posting your homework here. You will have reading, maths, spellings and our Word of the Week to look at. 

• Try and read every day for about 20 minutes – this may just be looking at one page and discussing what you can say and why things are happening in the story. Reading isn’t just about reading the words on the page, it’s all about understanding what the story is trying to tell us. 
• You will get five words to look at and learn every week; these will help with your reading and writing in class. ​
• ​In year 4, our maths fluency homework is on the Times Tables Rock Star app/website. This is to prepare us for the statutory multiplication test. You will be required to spend 10 minutes practicing. I will be monitoring the app and celebrating your successes. If you are unable to access this app at home please let me know

Maths Fluency 

I would like to say a big thank you to all the children who actively complete their maths fluency daily.
I can see such a huge difference in class already.
Keep it up! 

I would like to remind you about how important it is to practise your times tables on the TTRS website /app at home. I check your fluency daily every morning.

This week, we will be moving onto the 7 times tables in class. 
You may notice that on the TTRS app you may have particular times tables to focus on. Please continue with this. We will work our way through the times tables, in class, throughout Year 4.

R.E - Sacrament of Confirmation

This term, we will be learning about the Sacrament of Confirmation. We know that when we take our confirmation we will have the opportunity to choose a saints name. The saint is to serve as a special patron, to protect, guide, and be the heavenly intercessor for the individual who bears his or her name. 
Please research a saint that you would choose if you were to make your Sacrament of Confirmation 
Think about the following:
Why have I chosen this saint?
What does this saint mean to me?
