Friday 15/1/21

15/1/2021

Good morning Reception,
There has been lots of amazing work on Purple Mash.  Well done!
Here are Aimee and Paolo's work from Owl Babies.  Kelis has been practising writing her name.

Here is your learning from today.
  • Reading:  Choose a story from Myon www.myon.co.uk/index.html or a story you have at home to share and enjoy.
  • Counting: Today I would like you to log on to Purple Mash, click on Numbers and Counting (the boy with the blocks), click on Number Paint Projects then practise writing each number from 1 to 10 by tracing over them and drawing the right number of dots for each number.  (See photos below for where to go and examples of what to do).   Make sure you click save and exit so I can see what you have done.  This will save your work into your tray.

  • Writing: Use these high frequency words to write a sentence:
                                           I am...
Use your other high frequency words or letter sounds to write your own word to finish the sentence.  e.g I am big.   I am fiv (five).  It is fine if you only write the sounds you can hear and it is not spelled exactly as it should be.  This is how we learn to write.
Say the sentence a few times to help you remember it.  Copy the first word I, leave a
finger space, copy the second word am, leave a finger space, then write the next word. Robot the word you want to write e.g f - i - v    Write down each sound you hear.
Don't forget to end the sentence with a full stop.
  • Do some exercise - do 20 star jumps, run on the spot while counting to 20, hop on one leg and count to 10 then hop on the other leg and count to 10, touch your toes 20 times
  • Keep talking - talk about something you did or learned today or this week.

Phonics:  Today's phonic session is a recap of the phonemes you have learned this week.
Watch this Youtube video for today's lesson.
Now for the reading.
Practise reading these words.
Writing: Keep practising your handwriting.  Follow the direction of the arrows.  Use your magic writing finger at first, don't stop writing until you finish the pattern or letter.  Next, try writing it on paper.  The letters belong to the Curly Caterpillar family that q belongs to.

Literacy:  Watch the 'Owl Babies' Story Map part 3 video from yesterday.  Keep practising say out the story along with the actions.
Maths: Today is.....  Yesterday was.....   Tomorrow will be.....
Watch the White Rose Maths video  it's Alive in 5 Week 1 Session 4

Now it's your turn to play the comparing numbers game.  You don't need to print the cards below.  You could make your own - draw pictures of up to 5 (or 10 objects) on pieces of paper or you could take the 1-5 (or up to 10) cards out of a set of playing cards and play.  Remember your comparing how many.  Who has more/less?  Try to talk in full sentences.  I have more because 5 is more than 1.  I have less because 3 is less than 4.
As it's Friday and you have worked hard this week, do something you enjoy on your own or with your family -  play a game, play with your toys, do some cooking, draw a picture, listen to some music.
