Tuesday 12/1/21

11/1/2021

Hello Reception,
You all received your Myon and Purple Mash logins yesterday.
If you didn't, please email info@st-agnes.towerhamlets.sch.uk

Here is today's learning:
  • Reading - Log on to Myon at
https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html
  • Don't forget the school name St    Agnes RC Primary School
  • At the top click on Library, then click Browse, then click Genres and at the bottom click Picture books
  • There are lots of stories and non-fiction books to choose from.  One of my favourites is Little Red Riding Duck. You can listen to the stories or share them with an adult.
Picture
  • Counting - Keep practising counting to 20, forwards and backwards.  Can you find 20 socks to count?  You could make number cards to put on each sock to help you count.
  • Use these high frequency words to write a sentence:
           I can...
Use your letter sounds to write your own word to finish the sentence.  e.g I can run.
Say the sentence a few times to help you remember it.  Copy the first word I, leave a
finger space, copy the second word can, leave a finger space, then write the next word.
Don't forget to end the sentence with a full stop.  Below are the high frequency word and
       phonics mats to help you.
  • It's hard being stuck inside so much, so remember it's important to keep active.  Here is an idea to keep moving
         https://www.nhs.uk/10-minute-shake-up/shake-ups/jack-jacks-super-shapes
  • As always, it's important to keep talking! Remember to talk in full sentences.

Phonics:  The phoneme for today is         z
Watch this Youtube video for today's phoneme.
Now for the reading.
Practise reading these words.
Writing : Keep practising your handwriting.  Follow the direction of the arrows.  Use your magic writing finger at first, don't stop writing until you finish the pattern or letter.  Next, try writing it on paper.  This is another tricky letter.  Just try your best.

Literacy:  Yesterday, we started reading the story 'Owl Babies.'
Today I am going to read you the first part of the story and teach you the first part of the story map.  Here is the story map for you to look at.  See the videos below.

Maths: What day was it yesterday? What day is it today?  What day will it be tomorrow?
On Purple Mash - Mini Mash, there is a Winter counting activity to do.
Click on the Winter tree picture pinned to the top right of the page.  Click on Maths then you will see the Winter counting activity.  Listen to the instructions and complete the activity.

Many of you enjoy doing puzzles at school.  If you have puzzles at home, spend some time playing with them.
If you don't, there are some puzzles in Mini Mash on Purple Mash.
Click on the Winter tree picture like you did for the Maths session.  At the bottom you can choose 4 or 6 piece jigsaws to make.
