2/2/2021

Hello again Reception,
Here is your learning for today:
  • Reading: Enjoy sharing a book of your own or listen to a story on Myon.  www.myon.co.uk/index.html
  • Counting:  Keep practising counting to 20.  Can you say how many dots are on each of the pairs of ten frames below?
  • Writing: Use these high frequency words to write the sentences below:                                       I got a .... for ......
  • Use your sounds and/or high frequency words to complete the sentences. e.g I got a doll for my brthda. (birthday). I got a cr (car) for Crisms.  (Christmas) Remember it is ok to only write the sounds you hear.  As always, don't forget a capital letter for the start of the sentence, finger spaces and a full stop at the end.  Read over your sentence once you have written it.  Point to each word as you say it.   Draw a picture of what you have written.
  • Do some exercise: Try this Supermovers activity today
  • www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/just-for-fun-the-vamps-l1/z48y2sg
  • Keep talking:  Who is your favourite story/TV/movie character?  Why?  Would you like to be like them?  How?  Remember to talk in full sentences.
Phonics: We are starting a new set of lessons looking at words ending in s.  Watch the video and join in with Josh. Today you will also need some paper and a pencil to write with.
Writing: Keep practising your handwriting.  Follow the direction of the arrows.  Use your magic writing finger at first, don't stop writing until you finish the letter.  Next, try writing it on paper.  We are going to practise some more letters from the one-armed robot family.

Literacy: This week is National Storytelling Week.  Each day I will give you some ideas for a story that you can make up.  You don't need to draw or write anything.  Just tell a story.
Maths:  What day is it today?  What day was it yesterday? What day will it be tomorrow?

Watch the White Rose Maths video by clicking on the link below.  Today's session is Alive in 5  WEEK 3  SESSION 5

Have a go at making playdough.  Here is a simple recipe to use.  www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/playdough-recipe
Measure the ingredients and count how many cups or spoons of each ingredient you are adding.
If you want, you could make something else following a recipe such as cupcakes.
Take a look at Edinburgh zoo's animal cams.  They have a panda, penguin, tiger and koala cam.
Can you spot the animals?  What are they doing?  If they are sleeping, why might they be sleeping?  Can you see any food?  What are they eating?

This zoo has a flamingo cam.

If you Google, zoo cams, there are lots of zoos that have set up cameras to see their animals.
