24/2/2021

Good morning Reception,
I hope you are keeping safe and well. You are doing very well with your learning.
Here is your learning for today:
  • Reading: Enjoy listening to today's story called 'Barry the Fish with Fingers'.  Scan the code or copy and paste the link to watch.
Picture
  • Counting:  Log in to Purple Mash, click on the pin at the top called Superheroes and click on the Maths folder.  Complete both Maths activities called 'Counting' and 'Ordering Numbers'.

  • Writing - see below the phonics video for today's writing linked to the sound we are learning.
  • Do some exercise: Take a look at the Fun Fitness Bingo card.  Choose the activities you would like to have a go at.  You could close your eyes and point to one to pick.  Do a few in one go or stagger them throughout the day.

Keep talking:  Since you have been learning at home, think about something you have become really good at.  Tell someone in your house.  I am really good at....
Phonics:  Today's sound is called a trigraph. It is three letters that make one sound.  The sound is 'igh'.  Don't forget your paper and something to write with.
Writing:  You are going to do some writing linked to the sound 'igh'.  Write the letters that make the ‘igh’ sound.  Now write the word with 'igh' in it - light.  Then write the sentence -  The light is on. Don't forget a capital letter to start the sentence, finger spaces between each word and a full stop at the end.  Read the sentence once you have written it.

Literacy:  See below for the video of today's Literacy lesson.
Maths:  What day was it yesterday?  What day is it today?  What day will it be tomorrow?

Watch the White Rose Maths video by clicking on the link below.  Today's session is Growing 6, 7, 8  Week 3 Session 1 Comparing Height - Taller and Shorter

Now it's your turn.  See the activity below.  Don't worry if you haven't got cubes, you could use anything you can make into a tower.  Don't forget to use the key words.  The tower with 8 cubes is the tallest.  The tower with 2 cubes is the shortest.  The tower with 4 cubes is taller than the tower with 2 cubes.
Here is a link to a dice roller if you haven't got a dice.
