Yesterday, 24th January 2019, St. Agnes was blessed with a visit from Paul Canoville, Chelsea FC's first black player and award winning biography writer who led a talk about racism and bullying. This was his first successful workshop of 2019, and it took place at our very own humble school!
Canoville spoke openly and from the heart about his life experiences with racism, and the challenges faced growing up. All pupils were completely engrossed with his wit and humour and his heart-felt story. Canoville was so impressed with the school's pupil attitude and professionalism of the staff. He later stated on his social media page "very well behaved pupils that listened to my important messages. Thank you to Headmistress/Mrs Kemp for your invitation & to continue with the great work you and your teachers do." St. Agnes would like to thank YOU Paul for inspiring us to persevere and be better human beings! St. Agnes have been personally congratulated by Mr Jim Fitzpatrick, MP of Poplar and Limehouse, for the increase in the proportion of pupils achieving at the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.
There has been a whopping 6% increase in the results! The school would like to celebrate the success with their parents - thank you as always for your support! Thank you to all the staff who work tirelessly to ensure all children make progress. Well done STA! |
