I am so impressed with the reading you are doing at home - keep it up!! I can tell you have been practising the spelling words and the maths too. Here is your homework for this week:
Please make sure you bring the books you have read back on either Monday or Thursday. E.g. If we give you a book on Monday please bring it back into school on Thursday to get another book to take home.
Welcome to your homework blog for this year, each week you will find your homework here. You will have reading, maths, spellings and our Word of the Week to look at.
Try and read every day for about 15 minutes – this may just be looking at one page and discussing what you can see and why things are happening in the story. Reading isn’t just about reading the words on the page, it’s all about understanding what the story is trying to tell us.
You will get three words to look at and learn every week, these will help with your reading and writing in class.
You will also get your word of the week, this is an ambitious word which I would love to see you try and use in your writing in class.
You will also have maths activities to have a go at, these are called fluency activities. You need to keep practising these skills so you become really accurate and quick! Try and practise these skills for 10 minutes per day.
If you have any questions regarding the homework please contact the school office at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I am excited to see you all grow and progress this year!!
