2020-2021

Home Learning blog - Day 26

10/2/2021

Happy Wednesday Year 1!

I miss you all so much, it is so lovely receiving your emails and I really appreciate you asking how I am getting on too. It makes me feel very special.
Year1@st-agnes.towerhamlets.sch.uk

We only have today and two more days until half term, this is the last push before we can relax for a week.

Here are your activities to complete today:
Reading:
Today we are going to finish the story Kipper and the trolls.
www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

Read the book from cover to cover.
Then, turn to page 6 and think about why Biff thinks Kipper looks like a troll. Re-read page 14, do you think the trolls were nasty? Why?
Would you like to go to a troll’s party?

If you would like to, the two 'Play Activities' for this book are lots of fun too.

Phonics:
Today you are reviewing what you have learnt recently in the lesson here:

English: To retell a story in sequence.
We are writing the next part of the story today! Again, lets start off today with listening to the story again.

Now, heres a video to explain the next part...

Here is my story so far!

Have a go at the next part too.

Maths: To compare objects to 50.
Watch the next maths lesson on:
whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/spring-week-6-number-place-value-within-50/.
Then have a go at the worksheet below. Remember, if you don't have a printer you can always copy out the worksheet and answer the questions there.

RE: To know that the parish family spend time together after Mass.
At the end of Mass, the priest gives everyone God’s blessing and tells them to
            “Go in Peace.”
We all say: “Thanks be to God.”

Look at the picture below.

People often like to stay and share time together and sometimes the parish family gather together for refreshments.

Whilst looking at the pictures, answer the questions below:
  1. Who do you see in the picture in the hall?
  2. What special jobs are they doing?
  3. What do you think they are talking about?
  4. How do you think they are loving and serving Jesus?

Can you explore St Catherine’s Church website and find examples of the parish celebrating together?

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
See you tomorrow,
Miss Kennedy x
